Pet Boarding in Hickory

Comfortable, veterinarian-supervised boarding for the dogs and cats of Hickory. Whether you’re traveling for the weekend or away for longer, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your pet is in trusted, familiar hands.

Boarding with Built-In Veterinary Care

When you board your pet at Springs Road Animal Hospital, you’re not just leaving them with someone who’ll feed them and let them outside. You’re leaving them with a team that knows pets inside and out, with a veterinarian just steps away if anything comes up while you’re gone. That’s a meaningful difference, especially for senior pets, pets on medications, or pets with ongoing health concerns. We can administer prescription medications on schedule, monitor pets who need closer attention, and respond to anything unexpected with the kind of expertise a standalone boarding facility simply isn’t equipped to provide.

Dog Boarding

Our dog boarding accommodations are clean, climate-controlled, and designed with comfort in mind. Boarding dogs receive multiple potty breaks throughout the day, plenty of attention from our team, and a quiet, structured environment that helps anxious pets settle in.

Before booking, please make sure your dog is current on core vaccinations, including Bordetella (kennel cough). We also strongly recommend booking early, especially around holidays and long weekends — our boarding spots fill up fast!

Cat Boarding

Cats deserve their own space, and ours is built for them. Our cat boarding suites are quiet, separated from the dog boarding area, and outfitted with comfortable resting spots, perches, and the kinds of features feline guests actually appreciate. We make sure each cat gets attention on their own terms. Some want lap time and conversation, others want to be left alone with a sunny window. We respect both. As with dog boarding, cats must be up to date on their core vaccinations, and reservations book up quickly during peak travel times.

Boarding for Pets with Medical Needs

This is where having a full-service veterinary team on-site really matters. We’re set up to board pets who need:

  • Daily oral, injectable, or topical medications
  • Specialized diets or feeding schedules
  • Closer monitoring for chronic conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, or seizure disorders
  • Post-surgical recovery care
  • Hospitalization-level support when warranted

If your pet has medical needs that have made boarding feel complicated in the past, please give us a call. We’re happy to walk through what your pet would require during their stay and whether our setup is the right fit.
