After years of working in human nursing, Vickie Ellis started questioning whether it was the right fit — and when an opportunity in veterinary medicine landed in front of her, she took the leap. That was over 30 years ago, and she hasn’t looked back since.

What Vickie loves about this work is that no two days look the same. The next appointment, the next phone call, the next emergency — every one of them is a chance to learn something new and to be genuinely useful to someone who’s worried about their pet. Veterinary medicine is always evolving, and she finds it rewarding to evolve with it.

When clients walk out the door, her goal is for them to leave without a single doubt that they made the right choice in trusting Springs Road with their pet. She wants them to feel confident that their dog or cat got the same care and attention she’d give her own.

At home, Vickie’s whole world revolves around Wilson, her cocker spaniel. Wilson came to her needing a soft landing, plenty of love, and a generous helping of patience, and he repays it daily by refusing to act his age.
